Royal Jelly: Nature's Cure

Everybody knows what honey is. Honey bees collect nectar from flowers and convert it into this sweet substance. Other products produced by bees, like royal jelly, are less famous though. Up until a couple of weeks ago I did not know anything about the existence of Royal Jelly. My mom went to France and came back with this unusual souvenir. I will explain why this unique and organic product is more than just food.

Royal Jelly generally is the nutrition for bee larvae. The worker larvae are only fed with this substance for the 3 first days of their lives. Thereafter they have to live with less nutritious food. Queen larvae, on the other hand, are fed throughout the whole larvae stage. Worker larvae grow slower than queen larvae. From egg till bee takes 21 days in contrast to the 16 days a queen larvae needs. Moreover, a worker bee has a lifespan of only a couple of months, while a queen can live up to 5 years! Isn't that remarkable?

These facts have puzzled multiple researchers and up until now, the secret behind royal jelly is not yet fully revealed. We do know that it contains high concentrates of vitamins like vitamin b and c and minerals, as well as 22 essential amino acids and antibacterial substances. This makes it a very healthy addition to everybody's diet. It has a nourishing and rejuvenating effect. Your skin cells are treated from the inside out, because it stimulates the blood flow and cell renewal. This makes royal jelly and excellent remedy against excema, psoriasis and acne

There are two downsides though. First of all, this unique bee product is relatively rare, which makes it costly. Besides that, it has sour taste and aroma, whereby the majority of people do not find it very tasteful. To cover these two negative sides, I recommend you to buy a mixture of honey and royal jelly like my mom did. It is more affordable and as delicious as normal honey!

We are glad to hear that! Well, generally Royal Jelly is nothing but good for you. It contains a wide range of essential nutrients which the body needs to work properly. Be aware of the following things though, if you are allergic to bees and honey, say no to Royal Jelly as well. And for those people who suffer from asthma should keep their hands of it two. They face real dangers, because Royal Jelly triggers reactions like normal asthma attacks, bronchial spasms and even death.

For trying to be as healthy as you can be, just be aware of what you eat and try to put some effort in every meal you make. Use organic ingredients and vary a lot to give your body the vitamins and minerals it needs.

On the Obey Your Lifestyle blog there are different tips and facts which will help you achieve that healthy lifestyle, so do not forget to check our other posts! We update this site on a daily basis, so also visit it once in a while!
