Tea Time: Japan Kukicha Superior

Every now and then we present a type of tea out of our tea collection. This post is all about the Japanese Kukicha green tea.

It is one of my personal favorites because of the fresh taste and very subtle bitterness. Besides the great taste, the Kukicha green tea prepared from the stalks and stems of the tea shrub Camelia Sinensi, is very rich in healthy properties. It contains different sorts of minerals such as for example fluoride, which protect the teeth , selenium, which fights aging, zinc, an essential element for an healthy body and calcium, for a healthy bone structure. Moreover, this tea is full of vitamins. It contains Vitamin B1, B2, theanine,  catechins, amino acids, 2 and a half more vitamin C than oranges,... This translates itself in a variety of health benefits. Firstly there are signs that it reduces illness like bladder infections, heart diseases,... and even some sorts of cancer. Also it is know to lower cholesterol levels and blood pressure. Like any other green tea, it is furthermore proved to burn fat. This means it is an ideal addition to a diet for people who are trying to lose some weight.

I bought this tea online on biothee.nl, a dutch website. If you like to try it out yourself, the Kukicha green tea is easy to find in various webshops or local teashops. This tea is not the cheapest one on the market, but if you enjoy a nice cup of tea, it is worth every cent. Feel free to comment if you have any questions or suggestions and follow our blog so you don't miss the next episode of Tea Time!
